Canada Sister College

Alliance with Canada Christian College

Our school has been sister schools with Canada Christian College since October 11, 1981 and have collaborated for missions and education by allowing credit transfers and granting join degrees.

According to the American law, in order to establish a school and grant degrees, it takes time to meet the many requirements including long-standing  education, and a huge amount of finances to cover a minimum of 3 full-time professors, library facilities, and other operating expenses for the school. We could not let anything stop us from raising and producing servants of Christ. Therefore our degree is granted with an educational arrangement with Canada Christian College.

In order to fulfill the Lord’s calling to preach God’s word, we are to transcend borders, race, or doctrine so we overcome these differences and together educate our students.

  1. The two theological schools have become one in our missional calling. The founder of Canada Christian Collage, the late reverend Dr. Elmer S. McVety, was a famous evangelist alongside pastor John Hagee of America and while he was focused on radio evangelism, he realized the need to raise leaders for missions and so established Canada Christian School in 1974 and dedicated his life to education. Students came from all over the world such as Africa, Asia, especially Korea, Central and South America and he was able to raise leaders worldwide. Not only that, but he was devoted to missions by raising sister schools or branch schools in countries such as Korea, Russia, Jamaica, and Brazil.

Meanwhile, TSNY focused on educating Korean immigrant students with many of our alumni serving worldwide in Africa, Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and Canada and so in missions we have been producing great leaders.

  1. The two theological schools have become one in gospel-centered education. Dean Kwon Oh Hyun have visited Toronto every year to meet with Dean McVety to discuss many education, secretarial, and missions policy and in their growing relationship they have exchanged opinions on the worldwide theological current and emphasized the need for gospel-centered and biblical teaching in the seminary.

  1. The two theological schools have carried out the word “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Gal 3:28).”

Despite our ethnical and cultural differences, we have risen above any racial discrimination, denominational characteristics, theological thoughts, gender, and borders and shown unity for God’s glory and His Gospel message.

TSNY has established a collaboration with Canada Christian College since October 11, 1981 to jointly acknowledge academic achievement and credits and our missions efforts. We have continued in this relationship since producing out first graduates in 1982. From dean Baek Yae Won who first established this relationship to the leadership of the dean Kwon Oh Hyun after coming out of a period of turmoil, we continue to maintain a closer collaborative relationship.

Sadly, the founder and late Dr. McVety has passed away on July 19, 1993 and his son, Dr. Charles H. McVety continues to serve as the president at Canada Christian College.
